Cheserek named USTFCCCA Division II National Athlete of the Week
Saint Leo freshman Ronald Cheserek became the first men’s cross country runner out of the Sunshine State Conference to earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II Men’s Cross Country National Athlete of the Week honors, when he received the accolade last Monday. Saint Leo nabs five SSC weekly honors
In addition to Ronald Cheserek’s Sunshine State Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, four other Saint Leo student-athletes received SSC honors last Monday:
– Junior Colett Rampf earned the SSC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award last Monday, marking the 10th time in her collegiate career she has won the accolade.
– Senior Marie Coors was named SSC Women’s Golfer of the Week for the first time in her amazing career, after finishing third at the UNC Pembroke Battle at Old South.
– Senior Marcelo Casas picked up SSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Lions to a 4-2 win over No. 11 Barry last week.
– Senior Arielle Kabangu was tabbed as SSC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in leading the Lions to SSC victories over Florida Tech and Barry.

Baseball announces 2017 schedule
Saint Leo baseball unveiled its 50-game schedule for the upcoming 2017 season, which includes 28 home games, 10 games against 2016 NCAA Division II tournament teams, and 33 contests against teams who posted a winning record last season. Read the complete story.
