Commissioning ceremony set for May 9 for Saint Leo’s ROTC cadets

Saint Leo University ROTC cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army on Monday, May 9, in a ceremony at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa USF, which is on the University of South Florida’s campus.

The ceremony will take place for Saint Leo and USF students at 10 a.m., in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom at 3705 Spectrum Blvd., Tampa, FL, 33612. Dress is business casual or military uniform (Army service uniform).

Saint Leo students being commissioned are Blake Burman, criminal justice major; Joseph McDermott, management major; Gabriel Schroeder, management major; and Justin Sierra, management major.

The guest speaker for the ceremony is Major General Kevin Vereen, who serves as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command.
