0Save the Date for Homecoming and A Day for Saint Leo
It’s time to get ready for homecoming week at Saint Leo University, which kicks off on Monday, October 29 with A Day for Saint Leo, and concludes with homecoming weekend from November 1 – 4. Several fun activities have been planned, and you can find all of the details here.
A Day for Saint Leo ▪ October 29
A Day for Saint Leo is a 24-hour fundraising campaign that brings together students, faculty, staff, and alumni to raise funds in support of Saint Leo’s life-changing mission. In its fifth year, we have set a goal to raise $100,000 in 24 hours, and here’s how you can help:
- Participate in the Faculty and Staff Most Spirited Challenge! On October 29, come to work in your most spirited Saint Leo attire for the chance to receive a $100 gift card to the bookstore, a reserved parking spot for one month, the “most spirited trophy,” and other goodies. To participate, come to the Alumni Engagement Office before 10 a.m. to have your official contest picture taken. Voting will be open to the entire community on the Saint Leo University Facebook page and selfie tent from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Dress in denim to help fund student scholarships. Our A Day for Saint Leo celebration on October 29 will be a denim day. Make a $5 donation and wear your Saint Leo gear and denim. Donations can be dropped off at the Alumni Engagement Office (Saint Francis Hall, Room 110) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or at the selfie tent between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Student Activities Building Green.
- Support student fundraising. Students will be getting into the FUNdraising by hosting a penny war and dunk tank. Come out and support our students between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Student Activities Building Green.
Homecoming ▪ November 1 – 4
From November 1 – 4, Saint Leo alumni are invited to come back to campus and reunite with their Lion pride for a weekend of fun events and activities. Faculty and staff are invited to register to attend, too. Check out this video for a preview of what you can expect.
The weekend starts on Thursday, November 1, with the 2018 Saint Leo Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony and dinner. This year’s class includes eight outstanding former student-athletes spanning from the class of 1968 to 2010.
On Friday, homecoming will be in full swing with the Spirit of Saint Leo Golf Tournament, reunion dinners, and a special beer and wine campus tour. On Saturday, attendees will be treated to a full day of fun with live music, fireworks, baseball and softball alumni games, the crowning of the 2018 king and queen, and the homecoming basketball game.
This is a weekend to celebrate our Saint Leo community. Visit your.saintleo.edu/hoco to learn more and register to attend!
