Saint Leo introduces new Voluntary Sick Leave Bank

WHAT
Effective this fiscal year, Saint Leo University employees can now take advantage of a new Voluntary Sick Leave Bank, which provides an opportunity for sick time to be donated to colleagues facing unforeseen health challenges within their family.

Employee are encouraged to review the new Voluntary Sick Leave Bank policy for more information. Those interested in donating their time will need to complete a form available via eTrieve.

WHY
After hearing requests from employees, the university’s Staff Council advocated for this benefit. It will allow Saint Leo employees to demonstrate our core value of community in greater ways, helping others through difficult times, noted Laura Solberg, Staff Council chair.

When a staff member runs out of sick time, it can affect everyone. Saint Leo’s voluntary sick leave bank will allow employees to take time off rather than work while ill and also will provide them with the opportunity to take care of their loved ones when needed.

Helping each other is a key part of who Saint Leo employees are and this will allow those to choose to do so, to donate their unused time to someone in need.
