University launches customized Professional Development Solutions

As part of the university’s priority to generate revenue through new business development efforts, the Division of Community Engagement & Communications has launched a suite of customized professional development solutions. These offerings are designed to improve leadership and team effectiveness in organizations of all sizes and reach across a wide range of market segments, disciplines, and industries. Varying in scope from leadership development and coaching to workforce training in areas such as agile and digital marketing, the customized solutions also complement existing university professional development options such as micro-credentials and simulated experiences.

The goal is to better position Saint Leo University as a full education and training partner for businesses and organizations. Dr. Jim Sartain, who is now serving as Saint Leo’s business development strategist, is collaborating with Dr. Mark Gesner, vice president of Community Engagement & Communications, to spearhead the effort.

Connected Leadership is an example of one of the offerings in the suite of customized solutions. In collaboration with CODA Partners, a professional services firm specializing in organizational development, Connected Leadership combines growing research on leadership development and key competencies with interactive case studies, simulations, and individual and group exploration. The training can be offered remotely, in-person, or through a hybrid approach. The product is the result of a professional collaboration of leadership development experts, university subject matter experts, organizational development practitioners, and a network of experienced master trainers certified in the Connected Leadership curriculum and evidence-based framework.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to use their professional networks to identify new partners and prospects for all of Saint Leo University’s professional development and revenue-generating opportunities.
