0Marketing and communication students participate in case competition
WHAT:
Eight students, representing three teams, had the opportunity to participate in the Second Annual San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union (SACFCU) Marketing and Communication Case Competition. Students were provided with a current marketing and communications problem associated with SACFCU and had approximately 10 weeks to investigate the situation and develop a plan to address the issues at hand. On Saturday, April 15, the three teams presented their findings to the executive committee of the credit union. Each team was awarded with first, second, or third place.
WHO:
Students participating in the competition included (photographed left to right) Emily Rector, Ashley Mueller, Rylee Standridge, Elizabeth Harper, Mario Wallace, Iyanna Malone, and Jaleesa Turner. Not pictured: Isaac Standridge. Patty Sarne, CEO and president of the San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union, congratulated the students and presented a check for the prize money.
Dr. Kenneth Embry, associate professor of communications, and Dr. Keith C. Jones, associate professor of marketing, facilitated the case competition.
IMPACT:
The competition provides students with a practical learning experience, allowing them to apply their knowledge to a real world problem. Current plans are to offer the competition again during the 2023-2024 academic year, featuring a different marketing and communication issue.
