Honors students help identify products and services with social impact

Students taking the university’s Social Entrepreneurship class had the opportunity to attend a Pitch on Purpose session on Thursday, October 9. The session allowed the students, who are studying ways that businesses can have a positive impact on society, to hear five entrepreneurs pitch their socially responsible products and services.

The students established criteria to assess the products and determine which ones would be best suited for the initial business line of the Saint Leo Social Venture Shop now in the development phase. Once live, the vision for the shop is to feature a variety of products and services that have a social impact.

Tapia College of Business faculty member Dr. Helen MacLennan teaches the Social Entrepreneurship class, with assistance from Vice President of Community Engagement & Communications Dr. Mark Gesner. It is part of the university’s Honors Program offerings.
