State Road 56 closure rescheduled for April 30 – May 1
From 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, until the late afternoon on Sunday, May 1, State Road 56 will be closed to all traffic at the Interstate 75 interchange, in order to place the I-75/S.R. 56 interchange into the new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) traffic pattern. During this time, no traffic will be permitted to travel through the work zone across I-75.
State Road 56 traffic will be detoured using State Roade 56, Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (State Road 581), and State Road 54/County Road 54 (Wesley Chapel Boulevard). Once the new traffic pattern is completed, State Road 56 will be open to traffic. However, travelers are advised that it will not be at full-capacity until closer to project completion, which is scheduled for summer 2022.
