Five Saint Leo swimmers receive NCAA Championship invitations
Five members of the Saint Leo men’s and women’s swim teams received invitations to the 2017 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, based on their performances during the 2016-17 season. Receiving invitations were Natalia Garriock, Annie Lindstrom, Nicole Weber, Hunter Bains, and Milosz Mikicin. Read the complete release
Women’s basketball earns SSC Tournament berth
Saint Leo women’s basketball is headed to the post-season after securing a quarterfinal berth in the 2017 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament. The seventh-seeded Lions will travel to Lakeland, FL, on Wednesday, March 1, to face second-seeded Florida Southern; tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Read the complete release
Softball’s Kinberger earns career win number 200 in victory over Embry-Riddle
Saint Leo head softball coach Erin Kinberger ’07 earned career coaching victory number 200 on Saturday in the Lions’ 8-3 win over Embry-Riddle, in the second game of a doubleheader. The Lions took all three games off the visiting Eagles, and finished the weekend with a 15-4 overall record. Read the complete release
Spring teams making moves in the polls
Several Saint Leo spring teams having been making their presence known in their respective national polls:
– Softball climbed to No. 8 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 poll.
– Men’s lacrosse debuted at No. 18 in the USILA/Nike Division II Coaches poll.
– Men’s tennis holds on to No. 2 ranking in ITA Division II poll.
– Women’s tennis remained in the No. 4 spot in the ITA Division II poll.
