Saint Leo and Tampa Bay Sports Commission to host NCAA South Region XC championship this Saturday
The Abbey Course at Saint Leo University will play host to 20 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams all vying for the NCAA Division II Cross Country South Region Championship, on Saturday, November 5. The men’s 10K race will start at 8:30 a.m. followed by the women’s 6K race at 9:45 a.m. The top three teams plus a select number of individuals will advance to the NCAA Division II national championships – which will also be hosted by Saint Leo University and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission on Saturday, November 19. Women’s soccer claims SSC regular season crown; to host SSC tournament this week
Saint Leo women’s soccer captured the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Regular Season Championship on Sunday with a 4-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The 2016 regular season title is the second in program history (the first was in 2011).
The top-seeded Lions will host No. 2-seed Nova Southeastern and the winners of Tuesday’s two quarterfinal games in the semifinals on Friday, November 4, with the winners advancing to the championship on Sunday, November 6, at 1 p.m. All games will be at the University Soccer Field.

Eriksen tabbed as SSC Women’s Golfer of the Week
Saint Leo junior Vilde Eriksen claimed Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honors after winning her first collegiate tournament title at last week’s Saint Leo Women’s Golf Invitational. Read the complete release.
White named SSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Sophomore James White was named the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading his squad to a pair of victories last week. He recorded nine saves over two games while leading the Lions past Tampa (2-0) and Florida Southern (3-2). Read the complete release.
Swimming teams ranked No. 17 in first CSCAA/TYR Division II poll
Both the Saint Leo men’s and women’s swim teams were ranked No. 17 in the nation, when the season’s first College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA)/TYR Division II Coaches Poll was unveiled on Thursday. Read the complete release.
Women’s hoops to host “Drop-n-Shop” events
Saint Leo women’s basketball will be holding a pair of “Drop-n-Shop” kids camps on November 25 and December 11, providing some activities for kids while their parents do some holiday shopping. Read the complete release.
