Lions finish second in Division II Learfield Directors’ Cup standings
Saint Leo Athletics finished second out of 307 Division II institutions in the final Learfield Directors’ Cup rankings for 2015-16 – the Lions’ highest finish in program history. A total of 13 Saint Leo teams earned Directors’ Cup points by their participation and advancement in NCAA Championship competition. Read the complete release.
Saint Leo places four on At-Large Academic All-America First Team
Saint Leo tripled the number of First Team Academic All-Americans in school history when it had four student-athletes earn First Team honors last week. Swimmers Matheus Assis and Evan Jacob, men’s golfer Joey Savoie, and women’s golfer Marie Coors were all First Team At-Large Academic All-Americans, while women’s tennis player Marine Beugre-Guyot was a Third Team honoree.

Chris Greenwood named D-II Men’s Golf Coach of the Year
Saint Leo head men’s golf coach Chris Greenwood was tabbed with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) 2016 Dave Williams Division II National Coach of the Year award presented by Golf Pride Grips, after leading the Lions to the first national championship in school history. Troy Sieber selected by Houston Astros in MLB Draft
Saint Leo junior first baseman Troy Sieber was selected by the Houston Astros in the 24th round of the MLB Draft. He is the fifth Saint Leo player drafted in the past four years under the tutelage of Lions head coach Sean O’Connor. Read the complete release.
