It is time again to nominate individuals and organizations for the annual Student Government Union leadership awards. Please nominate those students or organizations who you think have demonstrated leadership skills, bettered the Saint Leo community, and personified the university values.
Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 7. Nomination forms can be completed at http://www.saintleo.edu/resources/student-government/sgu-awards.aspx or a hard copy can be dropped off at the Student Affairs Office located in the Student Activities Building, Student Affairs Suite, Office 120.
The Annual Student Government Union/Student Affairs Awards Banquet will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, in the Student Community Center Boardrooms.
The following awards will be given:
- The Tobey Award – A senior who through sustained commitment and with personal character of the highest order, embodies the qualities of leadership, service, and dedication in an exceptional manner. Must have attended Saint Leo University for four years.
- The Rebecca L. Buller Award – Must be a senior who has demonstrated unsurpassed leadership, service, and integrity. Must have attended Saint Leo University for four years.
- The Lonzo Helton Award – Must be a non-student who demonstrates passionate service, true pride, and outstanding dedication to the values of Saint Leo University.
- Outstanding Freshman – Must be a student of the freshman class who has displayed exemplary commitment, leadership, service, and dedication to the Saint Leo University Community. A student who embodies and displays the core values (Personal Development, Responsible Stewardship, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Respect) and motivates others to be exemplary.
- Outstanding Sophomore – Must be a student of the sophomore class who has displayed exemplary commitment, leadership, service, and dedication to the Saint Leo University Community. A student who embodies and displays the core values (Personal Development, Responsible Stewardship, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Respect) and motivates others to be exemplary.
- Outstanding Junior – Must be a student of the junior class who has displayed exemplary commitment, leadership, service, and dedication to the Saint Leo University Community. A student who embodies and displays the core values (Personal Development, Responsible Stewardship, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Respect) and motivates others to be exemplary.
- Outstanding Senior – Must be a student of the senior class who has displayed exemplary commitment, leadership, service, and dedication to the Saint Leo University Community. A student who embodies and displays the core values (Personal Development, Responsible Stewardship, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Respect) and motivates others to be exemplary.
Please note that organizations nominated must provide information as to how they accomplish their goals.
