Saint Leo MBB to host Nova Southeastern in SSC Championship Quarterfinal on Wednesday
The Saint Leo men’s basketball will begin its post-season march on its home court when the fourth-seeded Lions host fifth-seeded Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, March 2, in the Sunshine State Conference Championship Quarterfinal round. Tip-off at 7 p.m. in the Marion Bowman Activities Center.

Registration underway for Spirit of Saint Leo
Registration is now underway for the 15th Annual Spirit of Saint Leo Golf Tournament, which will take place Monday, April 11, at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club South Course. This four-person scramble brings together alumni, former teammates, and friends of Saint Leo Athletics to support the nearly 350 student-athletes who wear the Green and Gold. Dewberry snags SSC and USBWA Player of the Week honors
Saint Leo men’s basketball player Marcus Dewberry was named the Sunshine State Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, after recording a triple-double of 27 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in Saint Leo’s 96-84 win over Florida Tech. He went on to receive United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division II National Player of the Week honors as well.
Softball and tennis teams make their make their mark in national polls
Three Saint Leo teams made their mark in national coaches’ polls last week. The softball team debuted at No. 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll last week, the first time the Lions have been ranked since 2013. Meanwhile, Saint Leo women’s tennis and men’s tennis teams held onto their respective No. 3 and No. 7 spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings.
Women’s soccer announces 2016 signing class
Saint Leo women’s soccer coach Ged O’Connor unveiled the names of six signees to National Letters of Intent who will be joining the Lions this fall. Read the complete release.
Nine Saint Leo cross country runners named to USTFCCCA All-Academic honors
Nine Saint Leo cross country athletes were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic selections, for receiving a 3.25 or better GPA while finishing among the top runners at either the regional or national championship. In addition, both Saint Leo cross country teams were named All-Academic Teams for recording a 3.00 or higher team GPA. Read the complete release.
