Saint Leo introduces online platform for student activities

Saint Leo’s Student Activities department recently launched a new online platform that will serve as a one-stop resource for everything related to student activities. Called EngageLeo, the platform will allow student clubs and organizations to create events, manage memberships, share information, and communicate university news and events all in one great online space.

“Saint Leo is home to so many amazing student clubs and organizations that have served to engage students on a deep and meaningful level,” said Sonja Massa, assistant director of Student Activities. “EngageLeo will only help the university strengthen this experience more.”

In addition to serving as an engagement tool for student leaders, EngageLeo will provide an easy way for students who are not part of a club or organization to learn about getting involved. Each club and organization will have its own profile in the system for students to browse. Interested students can request to join clubs and view upcoming events online.

Several clubs and organizations already have created their profile on EngageLeo, and more will be added in the upcoming months.

Another feature of EngageLeo is that staff and student administrators will be able to receive metrics from the site to gain a better understanding of what activities resonate the most with the student body. Utilizing event attendance tracking, student self-reported experiences, and organization membership, students can record and progress through co-curricular paths designed with their development in mind. This information also will help inform the creation and scheduling of future events, ensuring they are relevant to students’ interests.
