0Join in celebrations for the feast of St. Benedict
WHAT:
The Saint Leo University community is invited to celebrate the feast of St. Benedict by attending Mass and a barbeque luncheon. St. Benedict of Nursia is a sixth century abbot who gave Christian monasticism its lasting foundation in Western Europe. St. Benedict is the patron of the Benedictine order, which founded the university. Saint Leo University’s core values are based on his writings and the Rule of St. Benedict.
WHEN:
Tuesday, July 11
Mass: 10 a.m.
Barbeque: 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Mass will be held in the Saint Leo Abbey Church, and the lunch will be held in the Dining Hall.
WHO:
Student Affairs and University Ministry invite all faculty, staff, and students to attend the complimentary barbeque. The university also will welcome Saint Leo Abbey monks and the Benedictine Sisters of Florida at the barbeque. University Ministry Director Lucas Nocera will offer a prayer and also will provide live music during the lunch.
