Commencement season is officially here
Each year, the Saint Leo community looks forward to our commencement ceremonies. For our graduates, commencement is a time to celebrate all of the hard work and sacrifices they made to achieve their educational goals. It is also a time when faculty and staff can celebrate their contributions to help each graduate reach this important milestone.
This year, a number of events and ceremonies will mark the occasion for new Saint Leo graduates. Save the date for these events:
- Commencement weekend will kick off with a hooding ceremony for Doctor of Business Administration, Doctor of Criminal Justice, and Doctor of Education graduates. The ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, and will be held in the Wellness Center.
- Baccalaureate Mass will take place at 5 p.m. in the Saint Leo Abbey Church, following the hooding ceremony on Friday, May 12. Reservations are required to attend. This special Mass is a time for graduates to give God thanks for many blessings provided during their university experience and to watch over them as they prepare for a new chapter in life.
- The Saint Leo Under the Stars reception will follow Baccalaureate Mass at 6:30 p.m. at the Wellness Center. Please RSVP to attend. The reception will provide a great opportunity for graduates, families, faculty, and staff to connect with one another and enjoy food and entertainment.
- Florida commencement ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. The ceremonies will celebrate the accomplishments of our undergraduate and graduate students.
- The Savannah commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, June 9, at the Johnny Mercer Theatre in Savannah, GA. Students from Saint Leo University’s Savannah Education Center as well as those who studied through the university’s Center for Online Education and at other education center locations will receive doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees during this ceremony.
