Veterans appreciation event planned for November 10

In celebration of Veterans Day (November 11), Student Affairs will host a Veterans Appreciation Week ceremony and reception, starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the event, which will be held outside, near the For Those Who Serve statue.

The ceremony will feature special guest speaker U.S. Army Colonel Lewis “Jay” Powers, deputy commanding officer, Special Operations Command- Central. With more than 25 years of service in the U.S. military, Powers has held several positions within the Special Forces and served on many deployments.

Following the ceremony, the reception will include a presentation by the color guard and the laying of a wreath by students representing each branch of the military.
