Mission-Driven Leaders speaker series to host NASA leader April 18

WHAT:
On Tuesday, April 18, Mission-Driven Leaders: Conversations on Purpose, sponsored by the San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union, will welcome home alumna Rose W. Mustain ’95  for an inspiring conversation on mission-driven leadership. Hosted by Dr. Mark Gesner, vice president of Community Engagement and Communications, the Mission-Driven Leaders series is presented in partnership with Saint Leo University’s Honors Program and is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public.

Rose W. Mustain  ’95
Information and Solutions Lead, Gateway Program, National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Rose W. Mustain is an information technology and cybersecurity leader at NASA, currently serving as the information and solutions lead for the agency’s Gateway Program, an international collaboration to establish humanity’s first space station that will orbit the moon. Prior to Gateway, Mustain was the Orion Program’s information management and data architecture lead where she led cybersecurity, IT systems and solutions, configuration management, data management, and meeting services.

Mustain has played a vital role in NASA’s evolution toward securing systems, digital transformation, and process improvement at the center and agency levels. She has received numerous prestigious awards during her career and recently led a team and co-presented the “Gateway Implementation of Cybersecurity Requirements” paper at the 73rd International Astronautical Congress.

Mustain holds an associate degree in business administration and office automation from Thomas Nelson Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

The Mission-Driven Leaders: Conversations on Purpose program features interactive conversations with guest leaders from a variety of sectors who have experience in leading with purpose and making a difference in their professions and in society at large. By engaging in conversations with those who practice mission-driven leadership, the intent is to help bring the Saint Leo mission to life for the university community and the public.
