Hockey club team wins first intercollegiate game
Saint Leo’s newest club team, ice hockey, claimed a 9-4 victory over the University of North Florida in its first intercollegiate game on April 1 at AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel, FL.
The evening was preceded with prayer — led by senior Mary Margaret Worhacz — and the singing of the national anthem — performed by junior Isa Riano. Dr. Ed Dadez, the university president, dropped the first puck to start the game. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other members of the Saint Leo community cheered on the Lions to their win.
