Military, veterans invited to Family Fun Day at Keel Farms on January 28

Saint Leo’s Tampa Education Center is participating in a special event for area military personnel, veterans, and their families. The Camaraderie Foundation’s first Family Fun Day of 2023 will be held 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, January 28, at Keel Farms, 5202 Thonotosassa Road, in Plant City, FL. Keel Farms also is the presenting sponsor for this event.

Military-affiliated and veteran students, faculty, staff, and their families are invited to enjoy trolley tours of the farm and the famous winery. Children may pick strawberries, pet friendly farm animals, and bounce in the Rockin Bouncie House. Adults may relax and listen to the music of a DJ and have an adult beverage at the farm bar. Then, guests may enjoy lunch and a drink, all donated by Keel Farms and the Camaraderie Foundation.

Members of the Tampa Education Center team will be on hand with drawings for door prizes and more.

Clay Keel, a Saint Leo alumnus, who earned his MBA in 2014, is the president of Keel & Curly Winery at Keel Farms and is a U.S. Army veteran. “Keel Farms holds our veterans and military members in the highest regard,” he said. “We are tremendously excited to partner with the Camaraderie Foundation and the Plant City Chamber of Commerce to offer veterans and their families a fun and exciting day on our farm. The Camaraderie Foundation’s goal to build a community network of support and provide relevant resources for veterans is directly in line with the Keel Farms values of quality, sustainability, and most importantly, community.”

Camaraderie Foundation, founded in 2009, and headquartered in Orlando, facilitates Family Fun Days throughout the year in Orlando and Tampa in an effort to raise awareness of its mission to heal the invisible wounds of war by providing no cost and confidential mental, emotional, and spiritual counseling, transitional services, and family support for all military service members, veterans, and their families.

This event is exclusive to and complimentary for all military, veterans, and their families. Registration is required as space is limited. Register at
