In Memoriam ­— Elizabeth (Lisbeth) Kraus

The Saint Leo community mourns the loss of Elizabeth (Lisbeth) Kraus, the mother of Dr. Carol McLeish, assistant professor in the College of Education and Social Services, who passed away January 17, 2023, after an extended battle with dementia.

Born in 1929, in Mannsdorf, Germany, she was the oldest of four children. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Hans (John) Kraus. She is survived by four children, Ingrid Fisher, Carol McLeish, Linda Roberts, and Norm Kraus, as well as their spouses; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, February 3, at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow, Ohio. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 4, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stow, Ohio. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Memorials may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601. A full obituary is available here.
