On Tuesday, December 6, the Saint Leo community held a pep rally on Kirk Hall Lawn to cheer on men’s and women’s basketball before their doubleheader. Students, faculty, and staff enjoyed a barbeque chicken picnic lunch on the lawn and performances by Saint Leo’s own GoldRush Dancers and cheerleaders.

As the event officially kicked off, Interim Director of University Ministry Lucas Nocera led a prayer to bless both teams and the community. Before the teams were introduced on stage, a special guest was announced. Fritz, the university mascot, is back!

Fritz was greeted warmly by the crowd and stopped to toss T-shirts to fans and pose for photos. Fritz then helped cheer on both teams while they were introduced and invited on stage. Fans looked on as coaches and players thanked the community for their support. Afterward, Fritz handed out more giveaways and posed again for photos.
