Online Community Service Club promotes push for holiday giving during winter break

The Online Community Service Club invites all students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to donate time or treasures to a number of holiday giving opportunities between now and Sunday, January 15, the end of winter break.

Regardless of location, this is an opportunity for Saint Leo University to serve our local communities and demonstrate the core values of community and responsible stewardship in cities across the country and around the globe.

Holiday giving suggestions include:

  • Local food pantries: Metropolitan Ministries, Second Harvest Food Pantry, and Feeding America.
  • Toys for Tots, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps.
  • Adopt-a-Family campaigns, sponsored by Catholic Charities, United Way, and more.
  • Salvation Army, YMCA, St. Jude, and other similar charities.
  • Holiday initiatives at local schools or churches.

For students, once you have donated or volunteered, please complete the Post Volunteer Service Form in Forms (on the main club page in EngageLeo) to track your service and become eligible for a certificate of achievement. Students who volunteer as a class or team can include that information along with your name. To access the form, use this link: https://saintleo.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/onlinecommunityservice.

For additional help or if you have questions, email wwstudentlife@saintleo.edu.

Happy volunteering and happy holidays to all!
