University Ministry team assists with disaster relief efforts in Fort Myers

On Oct. 4, Saint Leo University Ministry assisted in the effort to bring disaster relief to survivors of Hurricane Ian. University Ministry staff member and alumnus Kevin Floyd and Father Randall Meissen, university chaplain, were joined by ministry student leader Adam Keselicka to deliver and distribute a truckload of food, bottled water, and other essential aid items to an emergency aid distribution site in Fort Myers, FL.

Thanks to the disaster response volunteer group—the United Cajun Navy—for organizing the point of distribution and to the many generous people in Hernando County for donating the emergency aid supplies.

The United Cajun Navy interviewed Keslicka, a criminal justice major, Class of 2023, on why he helped. View the Facebook reel interview here.
