Dr. Larry Braue named director of Military Affairs and Services

Saint Leo University is welcoming Dr. Larry Braue as the new director of the Office of Military Affairs and Services. In that role, Braue will serve as the liaison to active-duty military students and student-veterans by identifying and removing barriers to success, creating programs and services that support this population’s retention and graduation, forming relationships with local and national nonprofits that support veterans, and complementing the work of other areas in their service to veterans. This includes working with veteran-friendly employers in collaboration with Career Services.

Braue is a retired Army lieutenant colonel, who worked in multiple roles in service of our country throughout his stellar career. For the past 12 years, Braue has been the director of Veterans Services at the University of South Florida, where he wrote and received a $435,000 federal grant for veterans’ education excellence and greatly expanded the services available to veteran students.

His office is in the University Campus Military Resource Center in Apartment 4, with periodic days spent at the Tampa Education Center. Braue may be reached at Lawrence.braue@saintleo.edu or (352) 588-8234.
