Saint Leo hosting NCAA DII Cross Country National Championships November 20, volunteers needed

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships at the Abbey Golf Course as the Saint Leo women’s team and two of our men will compete in the championship. The women’s race begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the men at 9:45 a.m. , Saturday, November 20.

This event is not a Saint Leo event, but rather is an NCAA event, so a ticket will need to be purchased in order to attend. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, $5 for students (with valid ID), and for military personnel and children ages 2 and younger.

However, due to Thanksgiving break, it is anticipated students will head home on Friday, therefore, the Athletics Department and the university will need the help of faculty and staff to host the event. Those who volunteer to help set up for the meet, help on the race day, or assist with cleanup after the race, will receive a credential that will gain them access on race day.

Please sign up to help in the various areas as Athletics needs assistance in as Saint Leo hosts more than 500 runners from around the United States and Canada for this event. Be part of a National Championship, cheer on your Lions, and help make Saint Leo look great as it hosts a fantastic event!
