Chaperones needed for off-campus events, organization advisors also wanted

Are you looking for a night out or a little recreation for your weekend? Can you offer some time to supervise a club or organization?

Saint Leo’s Student Activities is in need of chaperones for off-campus trips.

If you cannot help with off-campus trips, there are plenty of opportunities to help with events at University Campus or to advise student organizations and Student Government Union Senate committees.

Upcoming off-campus events include outings to Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando, and Epperson Lagoon for water and beach fun in nearby Wesley Chapel, FL.

Chaperones ideally are full-time faculty and staff members or graduate assistants, vaccinated against COVID-19, van-certified drivers, or willing to become certified to drive a university van. Training will be completed before the first off-campus trip. Most of the activities will be in the evenings or weekends.

Volunteer chaperones are required to travel with the student-group and to enforce the university’s mask policy during travel. Cost for the trip will be covered for the chaperone and one guest, who must also be affiliated with the university.

For information or to volunteer, contact Dawn McElveen, director of Student and Family Engagement, at dawn.mcelveen@saintleo.edu or call (352) 588-8499.
