Volunteers to help welcome students needed, main floor of parking garage closed

Orientation and move-in for our new and returning Lions begins Monday, August 17, and continues until Monday, August 24.  From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the main floor of the garage will be used to check in students and their families. We ask that Saint Leo employees please not park on the second floor of the garage on those days (August 17 – 24).

During check-in, families will have their temperature taken, be asked about COVID-19-related symptoms, receive wristbands to access residence halls (maximum two guests per student) during their reserved move-in time, and receive IDs, keys, and other essentials.  Many of the items typically received during check-in will be delivered ahead of time to their residence hall rooms.

Student Affairs would love your help at the check-in process or directing foot traffic around campus, as faculty/staff are not permitted to assist with student belongings as they have in the past. Please email Heidi.Dambrosio02@saintleo.edu to volunteer. You also may sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B084BA5AF2EA7FD0-nsocheckin

Due to Florida Department of Health mandates, most of orientation and Welcome Week will be virtual with some live music and grab ‘n’ go activities available each day as well.  Student Affairs will continue the creative virtual programming that was offered throughout the summer including informational presentations by a variety of areas, Career Services workshops, participatory art show, workouts, crafting, group games, trivia contests, and more.  Do you have a special skill or talent you would like to share with students?  Please contact dawn.mcelveen@saintleo.edu with the details.
