2018 Criminal Justice Summer Institute course now open!

The Criminal Justice Summer Institute will offer the Detective & New Criminal Investigator course from May 14 to May 18. Registration is open for the 2018 Summer I term. Offered in partnership with the Public Agency Training Council (PATC), this is a specialized five-day course designed to assist in providing a solid foundation of basic techniques in criminal investigation. 

The course will be taught by experienced law enforcement investigators. It will be offered in TECO Hall in the Donald R. Tapia School of Business building at University Campus and taught via Video Teaching and Teleconferencing (VTT) at the Morrow (GA) Education Center and the Chesapeake (VA) Education Office. 

It will be offered as a blended course* (with an online portion) for graduate academic credit as an elective or course equivalent for CRM 323 or CRJ 512. 

For registration purposes, the course is:

CRM300 / CRJ 500 Detective & New Criminal Investigator. Topics will include: Conducting the Criminal Investigation; The Crime Scene; Conducting Successful Interviews; Injury and Death Investigation; Digital Evidence; and more. 

Standard tuition rates for a three-credit hour class apply. Students must also register for the seminar and pay a $99 fee to cover materials and the certificate provided by PATC. To receive the discount, students must use the Saint Leo specific registration form and email Nikki Heister at nikki.heister@saintleo.edu to register for the seminar.

*Students who do not want academic credit can take the seminar for certificate only through the partner organization (PATC). They would only participate in the on-ground portion, register, and pay $99 for the seminar to PATC. To receive the discount, students must use the Saint Leo specific registration form and email Nikki Heister at nikki.heister@saintleo.edu to register for the seminar.
