Saint Leo participating in first Arts in the Park in Dade City

Students, faculty and staff, along with their families and friends, are invited to Dade City’s inaugural Arts in the Park festival on Saturday, October 7. This event will be held at Agnes Lamb Park, 14246 Ninth St., Dade City, FL 33523. The show starts at 2 p.m., rain or shine, and acts and activities will continue until 5 p.m.

Arts in the Park is sponsored by the Saint Leo University School of Arts and Sciences, the Dade City Youth Council, Magic Space, and Friday Night Open Mic.

Local talent and family-friendly entertainment will be the highlights of this event. Arts in the Park is free and open to the public and includes stage performances of dance, music, poetry, storytelling, comedy, and more. There will also be interactive arts and crafts activities for children, as well as a tented gallery walk featuring various visual arts produced by local artists. The gallery walk will also feature the work of several Saint Leo students.

Among the entertainers from Saint Leo University are the rock band Time Warp, featuring faculty and staff; political science instructor Frank Orlando performing comedy; Just the FACTS, faculty and staff choral group; student acapella group, student theater group; student Eddie Gemma Jr., singing and playing guitar; and creative writing faculty member Gianna Russo reading poetry.

There will be dance groups from the community as well as children’s theater from Arts in Motion, and more.
