Canceled—Gwinnett center hosting Poverty Simulation May 20

The Gwinnett Education Center will partner with the United Way of Greater Atlanta to host a poverty simulation on Saturday, May 20. Students, alumni, faculty, and staff in from the Atlanta-area centers, as well as the public, are invited. The event will take place at the center, 3555 Koger Blvd., Suite 105, Duluth, GA 30096. Registration is 9:15 to 9:45 a.m., and the simulation takes place 10 a.m. to noon.

Poverty Simulation allows participants to “walk a mile” in the shoes of those with low incomes. Participants assume the roles of members of low-income families, from singles parents trying to care for their children to senior citizens trying to maintain their independence on Social Security.

There is limited space for this event. For registration and information, contact Dr. Felicia Wilson at felicia.wilson@saintleo.edu. The Gwinnett Education Center telephone number is (678) 380-4005.
