21st Annual Community Thanksgiving Celebration

Thanksgiving Day is not a day to be alone. For the 21st year, the Benedictine Sisters of Florida are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner to share with others. If you are alone this Thanksgiving or just can’t prepare a big meal, be with us!

Each year we celebrate with a homemade dinner, including all the trimmings! Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and this free dinner is served from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. The traditional fare served is turkey, stuffing, salad, mashed potatoes (100 pounds are peeled), and a variety of desserts. Sister Donna prepares the meal, and the Saint Anthony Women’s Club provides the desserts … yummy! For the past 14 years, the event has been co-hosted by Saint Anthony of Padua parish, and the event takes place at their Parish Hall, located behind the church at 32848 Massachusetts Ave., San Antonio, FL. It is a fun afternoon of fellowship and giving thanks. We would love to have you join us!

Make your reservation today as space is limited. For those who are home-bound, please give us a call to schedule delivery. The monastery can be reached at (352) 588-8443 or (352) 588-8320. If you would like to attend, volunteer, and/or donate, call one of the above phone numbers, or email hnmdevelopment@saintleo.edu.

Reservations MUST be made by Friday, November 18.

A special thanks to friends who volunteer and donate to help make this event possible, including Geri Hall of Classic Party Settings for the lovely tableware contributed each year; Golden Corral in Zephyrhills for the delicious rolls; Saint Anthony students for their creative decorations; and some very special donors.  Everything comes together for a day of blessings.
