Wellness Center yoga class participates in Yoga Day event

A group of participants who attend yoga classes at the Saint Leo University Wellness Center participated in International Yoga Day on June 21, celebrating the benefits that yoga provides to the world.

To mark this occasion, held on the longest day of the year, 15 faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members, gathered at the India Cultural Center of Tampa for sessions on meditation, chair-based yoga, relaxation, breathing, laughing yoga, stretching, and floor exercises, as well as sessions on nutrition and mind/body balance.

Student participants included Tejaswini Pinnim, who is completing her master’s degree in computer science, and Rohith Reddy, a senior majoring in computer science. Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs Susan Kinsella also participated alongside her husband, Kevin Kinsella, and Bonnie Burton, Brittney Garland (instructor), McKala Krauss, Johanna Lane, Gail Reynolds, and J.J. Caudle (instructor).

Saint Leo offers several classes in gentle stretching and advanced yoga at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, followed by a class at 6:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Saturday classes are offered at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. For more information, please call the Wellness Center at (352) 588-8035.
