Men’s and women’s golf teams headed to NCAA national championships

Both the Saint Leo men’s and women’s golf teams earned a trip to their respective national championships by virtue of their performance in last week’s regionals. Men’s golf finished second at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, and will make its second straight trip to the NCAA nationals at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, CO. Women’s golf will be making its first team appearance at the NCAA national event after placing third at the NCAA South Super Regional. The women’s national championship will be played at CommonGround Golf Course in suburban Denver.

Anthony Crocitto named Saint Leo head women’s basketball coach

Anthony Crocitto, a veteran women’s basketball coach with experience at all three levels of NCAA women’s basketball, was named Saint Leo’s new head women’s basketball coach on Wednesday. Read the complete release.

Softball’s Creamer and Tyler named to CoSIDA Academic All-District team

Softball sophomores Brittany Creamer and Samantha Tyler were both named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, for their combined performances athletically and academically. Both now advance to be considered for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced May 25. Read the complete release.

Lions named to All-SSC teams in men’s and women’s tennis

The Saint Leo softball, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis teams were recognized by the Sunshine State Conference head coaches for the Lions’ unprecedented success in conference play this season.
The Saint Leo softball team swept all four major awards as nine players were named to the All-SSC First or Second teams.
Saint Leo men’s tennis also swept all major individual awards with four All-SSC First or Second team selections in singles and doubles play.
Saint Leo women’s tennis freshman Natalia Siedliska was named the SSC Freshman and Player of the Year, while four other individuals earned All-SSC honors.

Four softball players named to NFCA All-Region honors

Four Lions were recognized as All-South Region selections by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association when the All-Region teams were announced on Thursday. Read the complete release.

Sieber named SSC Baseball Player of the Week

Baseball’s Troy Sieber was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, after hitting .909 with a pair of home runs in a three-game series against Eckerd College. Read the complete release.

Summer camp and showcase dates announced for baseball and volleyball

Saint Leo offers a broad range of camps and clinics not just in the summer, but throughout the year! Volleyball and baseball both announced the dates of their upcoming camps and showcases:
Baseball’s spring showcase will be coming up on May 7, 2016.
Volleyball announced its full slate of camps for summer 2016.
MBB head coach Vince Alexander announced the dates for his inaugural camps at Saint Leo.
