UTS makes technology donation to Tampa Bay-area school

At the end of last year, University Technology Services (UTS) made a donation of eight Apple iPads to Community Christian School of Five Oaks in St. Petersburg, FL. The iPads were second- and third-generation products that were no longer meeting the needs of the university.

Instead of recycling the products, the team decided a better use would be to donate the tablets to a local school in need. Community Christian School of Five Oaks is a small, private school that serves 35 students. Several students have special needs or autism, and resources are limited.

Since the tablets were donated, students and staff at the school have been incredibly grateful. The tablets have been used by students in the classroom to facilitate learning, as well as by staff for grading, communication, attendance reports, and more.
