Savannah center to host ‘Fresh Start’ for area children, school supply donations welcome

The Savannah Education Center hopes to make sure the school year starts off right for Savannah-area children so the center is hosting “Fresh Start,” an event that will provide school supplies and fresh looks for students.

The community is invited to join Saint Leo University, in conjunction with Amerigroup, E-93/Cumulus Radio (WEAS-FM), 100 Black Men of Savannah, Image is Everything Nail Bar, The Truth: Full Service Salon, Future Minds, and Socks for Courtney, for a “Fresh Start.”

This event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 13, at Saint Leo University’s Savannah Education Center, 325 W. Montgomery Crossroads, Savannah, GA 31406.

Free manicures will be provided by Image is Everything Nail Bar; free silk press and curl and two “feed-in” braids with one pack of expressions for girls and young women will be provided by The Truth Full Service Salon (parents must provide the hair); and free haircuts for boys and young men will be provided by The Cut Barbershop and The Truth Full Service Salon.

The Fresh Start event will provide book bags with school supplies along with free food, drinks, and prizes.

Volunteers and donations are welcome. Saint Leo employees, students, and alumni who would like to help or donate supplies may contact Brian Bailey, assistant director of admissions, at brian.bailey@saintleo.edu or call (912) 352-8331, ext. 3024
