Register to volunteer for Saint Leo’s MLK Day of Service

This year, in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Saint Leo community is invited to participate in the annual service day on Monday, January 20.

At University Campus, service projects will be offered for students, faculty, and staff during the MLK Day of Service.

All community service opportunities are for two hours. Volunteers should report to the Student Activity Building Green (lawn) upon arrival to campus. Registration is required and those volunteering will receive the necessary documents to complete in advance. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Volunteer opportunities include making pet toys and treats for Paws of Love; writing letters to hospitalized children; creating care packages of toiletries for aid organizations; PB & J for Tampa Bay (making and distributing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches); and gardening.

MLK Day of Service is an option for employees to participate in service work through a program of their choice or at one of the university-organized volunteer events. Employees who do not wish to volunteer will be expected to work normal scheduled hours on these days.

If interested in volunteering,  register here.
