Register now for Women in Data + Science Conference

Registration is now open for the Women in Data + Science Conference, which will be held at University Campus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

The inaugural Women in Data + Science Conference is a forum for academics, industry professionals, and students to openly discuss and offer solutions to issues affecting women in data-infused fields: from gender bias to advocating for your work. Participants may attend panel presentations and workshops, and network with attendees, industry executives, and the keynote speaker, Sarah Mobley, a doctoral candidate with the structural engineering research group at the University of South Florida.

The conference also provides an opportunity for students from all majors to learn about the field of data science and to discover what it takes to succeed in graduate school and in the workplace. Presenters will speak on a wide range of topics including how to find your voice in a boardroom or classroom and self-empowerment. Attendees will learn that data is everywhere, and you don’t have to be a math or science wiz to excel in a data science career.

Registration for the conference is free and open to the public. If you would like to add lunch, the cost is $15. However, Saint Leo students can eat for free by using the promotional code SLUStudent at checkout. Visit the conference website to register.

For questions, contact Heather Johnson at heather.johnson03@saintleo.edu or (352) 588-7283.
