Fifth Annual Social Work Conference call for proposals

Saint Leo University will host its fifth Social Work Conference on campus, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019, in the Student Community Center Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms.  Transformative Social Work: Solutions, Action, Hope, is open to area professionals. Faculty, students, and alumni are welcome and encouraged to invite colleagues.

The nation’s 650,000 social workers deal with some of the most difficult issues affecting individuals, families and communities: schools and interpersonal family violence, natural and human made disasters, telehealth care, health care and mental health care, public health, impact of social media and technology, aging, youth, reentry and reintegration for prisoners, and trauma.  It is important to not only address these issues but more importantly identify solutions and actions to address these problems that lead to hope.

Proposals must offer evidenced based practices and strategies that demonstrate meaningful solutions and clearly delineate actions taken to promote hope in the people and communities that are served.

Proposals are due by Tuesday, October 30.
