Presentation on Catholic-Jewish relations

In observance of Church Unity Week, join the Benedictine Sisters of Florida for a presentation by Dr. Matthew Tapie at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 22, at Holy Name Monastery. 

Catholic-Jewish Relations before and after Nostra Aetate 

Dr. Tapie will provide an overview of the Catholic-Jewish Relationship pre- and post-Nostra
Aetate, proclaimed in 1965 by Pope Paul VI. The first half of the session will offer some historical
encounters of Catholic-Jewish relations, along with some of the challenges and successes.
The second half will offer a snapshot of our current relations enlightened much by
the influence of Pope St. John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis.

Dr. Tapie is an assistant professor of theology and the director of the Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies at Saint Leo University. His research and teaching interests are in the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, comparative theology, and Jewish-Christian religions.
