Learn about new Collaborate Ultra web conferencing tool
The Academic Affairs office of Faculty Development & Enrichment invites all faculty to learn about the new Blackboard Collaborate Ultra web conferencing tool that will be integrated into the More Tools menu inside every class in the Lions SHARE Courses system beginning with the 2017FA2 term. Register for upcoming learning sessions, delivered via webinar and at University Campus, at https://tali.saintleo.edu/ultra.
The Ultra experience is a major upgrade to the Blackboard Collaborate Web Conferencing service, which is a synchronous web conferencing platform that allows for both live and recorded interaction among instructors, students, and course material via an easy-to-use, install-free, customizable, virtual meeting space. It is being placed into the More Tools menu inside all courses.
Beginning with the 2017FA2 term, ALL university courses everywhere will include the new Collaborate Ultra tool integrated in the More Tools menu inside each class in the Lions SHARE Courses system.
For the 2017FA1 term, all 16-week University Campus courses, all 16-week WorldWide fully online courses, and a few selected pilot courses already have Ultra integrated.
Don’t have time to join your colleagues at one of our learning sessions?
- If you’re not the type of person who likes to do tutorials, you can fire up Collaborate right away, and on-screen prompts will provide guidance as you use the system, like a virtual assistant. Remember that, for 2017FA1 term, only 16-week University Campus courses, 16-week WorldWide fully online courses, and a few select pilot programs will be using Collaborate Ultra. But all courses will have the tool included in the More Tools menu in the 2017FA2 term.
